Nitrogen is widely used in industries because it is dry and inert. Traditionally nitrogen has been obtained through high-pressure cylinders. But, onsite nitrogen generation is a modern approach that makes you self-sufficient.
Nitrogen generation system separates nitrogen from other molecules in the air such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, moisture etc. In compressor-based technology, compressed air is supplied to a nitrogen generator. The quality of compressed air is important for the proper operation of an onsite nitrogen generator. High-quality compressed air ensures long and trouble-free service and guarantees optimum performance. VedFirms compressors and pre-treatment dryers and filters guarantee the highest air quality for nitrogen generation.
Quality of air supply at inlet of nitrogen generator:
- Inlet Air supply required to get the desired output of 800 CFM of N2 at 97% purity is to be furnished.
- Maximum Oil (Including Vapour):< 0.1mg/³ o
- Feed Air max residential dust content Particle Size: < 1um
- Feed Air max residential dust content Particle Density: <1 mg/m3
- Max residual water content : <0.117
- Max residual water content pressure dew point : -40ºC
Before entering the N2 generation unit, compressed air must be filtered by a two-stage filtration system to remove almost all impurities, along with a carbon filter to remove any oil vapour. Air also needs to be dried down to a -40°F dew point with a desiccant dryer. As long as clean, dry compressed air is supplied to the generator, it can efficiently work without supervision. However, not meeting these specifications may lead to decreased equipment life span and reduced performance.
